A light blush appeared as he looked a bit shocked at the kiss. He’d known Tiana long enough to know how quick to anger she could be. He sometimes forgot, however, how quick she was to forgive. He kissed her back gratefully.
She broke the kiss and smiled into his eyes. “Come on, we’d best get inside.” She ran her hands up and down his arms. “I really do want to try that cake. She took his hand, and led the way back into the kitchen. The cake had cooled significantly, while it sat ideally during their argument. But Tiana didn’t mind. Grabbing a knife, she placed it in front of Naveen. “You should do the honors. It’s your cake after all.”
“That’s alright. It happened a long time ago.” she attempted to smile. She still missed her Daddy, and it was hard to talk about at times.
“My Daddy? Well, you see, he died a long time ago. So he never did get to see it” she frowned.
“Well, I’ve been cooking for my whole life, so I’ve had a long time to perfect the recipes. A lot of them are actually my Daddy’s. He taught me everything I know about cooking.”
“Well, all the recipes are mine, but I don’t have time to cook each meal. I’ve got a full staff to do that kind of thing.” she explained. “I usually only cook the special orders. Or things for very important guests.”
